LIONEL, Ill.
– Snowflake will sell its tractor supply and maintenance business to the Lincoln Property Company, which owns and operates Lincoln Property Trucking in Lincoln, Lincoln County.
The transaction, which was finalized Thursday, will provide the company with an expanded presence in Illinois.
Lincoln’s acquisition of Snowflake comes amid a wave of consolidation by trucking companies.
In October, the Illinois Department of Transportation approved the sale of Lincoln’s trucking operation, LincolnTrucking, to a new operator, Lincoln Trucks.
The sale of the Lincoln Trucking division will result in a total of more than $2 billion in revenue for the company, according to the company’s website.
Lionel Property will operate the Lincoln Tractor Supply and Maintenance business in Lincoln and will continue to sell its trucking equipment and supplies, including snowflake’s Snowflake tractor, the company said in a statement.
Lions Tractor and Trucking Operations will continue operating in Lincoln.
LincolnTractor is the largest privately held trucking company in the United States, with approximately 1,500 employees, according the company.
