The San Francisco 49ers have not signed Trent Richardson, according to a report.
Richardson has yet to report to training camp after the 49ers were reportedly concerned about his health.
The 49ers are expected to hold a press conference Friday morning to officially announce his release.
Richmond was released from the New Orleans Saints in October after two seasons in New Orleans.
He was expected to compete with Colin Kaepernick for the starting quarterback job in San Francisco.
Richton has been a steady contributor to the 49er offense for three seasons and has been productive in his time with the team.
He has thrown for 8,873 yards and 23 touchdowns with seven interceptions in those seasons.
Richard’s release leaves the 49-20 NFC West behind the Minnesota Vikings and the Seattle Seahawks in the division race.
